About the Role

We are seeking a Principal or Associate Engineer specialising in Wastewater Network Modelling to support team leaders in managing project delivery, including supervision of tasks and review of deliverables. This role offers the chance to further develop and apply your technical skills while contributing to technical quality and service efficiency within an award-winning water team of over 350 professionals across the UK, supported by our Global Water Team.
You will work with leading clients such as Severn Trent, Scottish Water Horizons, Welsh Water, and Southern Water, helping to shape the direction of a high-performing and growing team. The role offers real progression opportunities by combining your technical and industry knowledge with leadership skills to encourage and develop others.
Key responsibilities include developing the urban drainage modelling capability within the team, staying at the forefront of industry developments, providing training and support to junior team members, managing local technical delivery, providing technical input on urban drainage projects, and influencing future approaches to efficient project delivery. You will exercise independent engineering judgement, develop and maintain excellent client relationships, participate in business development and proposal preparation, promote the WSP brand through industry forums and conferences, and contribute to team learning through knowledge sharing.
Experience
Proven experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling using InfoWorks ICM, including the ability to review and check technical outputs of others. Experience working with Water Industry Specifications, Code of Practice for the Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems, and relevant British Standards is essential.

Qualifications
A relevant degree and chartered status, or significant progress towards chartership with ICE, IEI, IoW, or CIWEM, is required.
