About the Role

This role focuses on supporting contaminated land assessment and remediation projects across the UK, including key regional and national projects as well as core UK and global frameworks.
You will be involved in project and task management, site investigation design and management, supervision of fieldwork such as soil logging, environmental sampling, chemical and geotechnical testing, groundwater sampling, and ground gas monitoring. You will prepare and review technical reports including desk studies, ground investigation reports, remediation options appraisals, and verification reports. Developing and maintaining client relationships and ensuring all work complies with safety, health, and environmental standards are key aspects of this role.

Experience
- Knowledge of planning, designing, and managing site investigations
- Understanding and application of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations for safe site investigation design and implementation
- Familiarity with the UK land contamination regime and risk-based assessment approaches
- Report writing skills, presenting complex technical information clearly and accurately
- Data handling experience; GIS knowledge is desirable
- Understanding of different regulatory regimes including development planning consenting (TCPA and DCO), environmental permitting, due diligence, nuclear site end states and GRR, and environmental impact assessment
- Expertise in specialist technical areas such as quantitative risk assessment, waste/material management, radiological characterisation, hydrogeology, and remediation

Qualifications
- Relevant technical degree in chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, or environmental science
- Working towards or prepared to work towards Chartership / Professional Qualification (e.g. QP) with a relevant institution
