As a Principal EIA Consultant within WSP's Environmental Assessment and Management team, you will collaborate with a range of technical environmental specialists and design teams across multiple sectors to lead environmental teams and contribute to project designs and assessments. You will play a key role in improving the environmental performance of diverse projects across multiple sectors.

This role is ideal for an enthusiastic individual looking to influence, manage, and deliver environmental elements of energy transmission and distribution (T&D) infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing projects, including bidding, project team leadership, delivery, and financial management. Your responsibilities will include managing the delivery of environmental inputs into energy T&D projects such as planning applications, Environmental Assessments (EA) / Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), route optioneering, site selection, stakeholder engagement, and support for Development Consent Order (DCO) examinations and planning inquiries.

You will oversee project performance across technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety aspects, build strong client relationships, and identify opportunities to support resourcing, programming, strategy development, and project delivery. Additionally, you will contribute to securing new work by preparing proposals, supporting strategic bid preparation, and participating in business development activities.

Supporting the development of innovative techniques such as Digital EIA, Technical Excellence, and Future Ready EIA will be part of your role. You will also inspire and upskill junior colleagues to support their career development and promote an inclusive workplace culture that values health, safety, and wellbeing.
