We are seeking a Principal Marine Environmental Consultant to join ABPmer, our consultancy and survey company with a 75-year history of supporting sustainable development, management, protection, and operation in the marine environment. In this role, you will manage and advise on a wide range of large-scale marine and coastal projects, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

ABPmer delivers services across marine and coastal sectors including conservation, fisheries, coastal development, dredging, ports, renewable energy, utilities, and government agencies. Our expertise spans consents and licensing, infrastructure design, habitat creation and restoration, maritime risk, marine planning and policy, supported by in-house data and experienced survey teams.

Requirements

Experience
- Demonstrable project management experience, preferably within a consultancy environment
- Knowledge of the UK marine planning and consents regime
- Experience with Environmental Assessments including Environmental Impact Assessments, Habitats Regulations Assessments, Water Framework Directive assessments, Marine Conservation Zone assessments, and Marine Plan Conformance assessments
- Experience coordinating projects through marine licensing and consenting processes
- Skills in proposal and tender preparation and coordination
- Business development experience is desirable
- Staff mentoring and development experience is advantageous

Qualifications
A degree or postgraduate degree in a marine environmental discipline is required, along with at least five years' relevant experience in a consultancy or regulatory background.
