About the Role
We have a brand-new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Property Services team based in our London office. This is an exciting time to join a collaborative, knowledgeable, and highly engaged team passionate about delivering outstanding engineering consultancy across the built environment. You will work on a varied portfolio of predominantly UK-based frameworks and projects, with some overseas opportunities, leading and delivering projects up to a few million pounds in value.
The Property Services team focuses on monitoring, optimising, and creating value throughout the lifecycle of buildings, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and adaptability in an ever-changing world. Key service areas include:
1. Technical Due Diligence – condition surveys, pre-acquisition surveys, dilapidation surveys, license to alter and associated reports.
2. Plant Replacement – smaller project works up to £3m including boiler/chiller replacements, feasibility reports, design, construction site duties, project management, and contract administration.
3. Design – creative and innovative design solutions for existing buildings across all RIBA stages, enhancing and transforming building services to meet current needs and standards.
4. Maintenance / Operational – quarterly inspections, preventative planned maintenance, asset registers, troubleshooting, energy optimisation, and EPCs.
5. Sustainability and Energy Efficiency – projects aimed at reducing carbon energy use and improving building energy ratings through sustainable practices and system upgrades.
In this key role, you will secure new projects, support existing clients, provide leadership and supervision to team members, collaborate with other teams, and contribute to the growth and succession planning of the Practice. Responsibilities include design, specification, site monitoring, commissioning oversight, post-occupancy engineering services, technical report writing, client liaison, and project expenditure monitoring.
Experience
- Qualified design engineer (chartered status or working towards).
- Proven experience working on refurbishment and fit-out projects in existing buildings.
- Experience in performance specification, contract administration, and site duties.
- Broad experience in Building Services with strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering and good understanding of mechanical disciplines.
- Familiarity with UK and applicable EU regulations and design guides.
- Proven track record in work winning and building successful teams.

Qualifications
- Chartered engineer status or actively working towards it.
