About the Role
As a Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) projects from start to finish, collaborating with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly across the company. Your projects will span offices, time zones, and hemispheres, requiring coordination and timely updates to all involved parties. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of EHS programs and initiatives across dispersed geographic areas. You will drive EHS performance improvement by working closely with Google Data Center partners, general contractors, trades, integrators, EHS counterparts, fabricators, and commissioning agents. Responsibilities include conducting pre-qualification evaluations of potential vendors and clearly communicating EHS expectations to all partners. You will ensure construction contractors meet contractual safety performance expectations and compliance with all regulations and standards while fostering a culture of continuous learning aligned with organizational goals. Collaboration with the wider Construction EHS team to implement best practices, report progress, analyze safety trends, and mitigate risk without compromising Data Center operations is essential.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program or project management
- Experience with construction safety management
- Experience leading construction EHS efforts for multi-site projects across dispersed geographies
- Experience working in operational data centers focusing on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Understanding of project management processes and basic construction agreement structures
- Knowledge of safety metrics reporting
