About the Role
FarmAbility is a local independent charity committed to improving the quality of life for adults with learning disabilities and autism through access to meaningful activities. We deliver farming and horticultural-based programmes in partnership with community farms and gardens. These programmes provide opportunities for participants to engage in purposeful daily activities that enhance physical and mental health, foster community, and develop skills and abilities.

As a Programme Leader, you will join a dedicated team responsible for planning and delivering day-to-day tasks on our farm sites. You will support co-farmers in a variety of outdoor activities, helping them engage more effectively and develop their skills and capacities. This role contributes to increased enjoyment, confidence, better health, and greater independence for our participants.

The Programme Leader team comes from diverse professional and personal backgrounds but shares a passion for delivering fulfilling, varied experiences and an inclusive approach to sharing knowledge and expertise. This is a fixed-term role for 12 months with the expectation of becoming permanent subject to funding.

Experience
Experience working with adults who have learning disabilities or autism is desirable but not essential. A background in farming, horticulture, education, social care, or related fields is advantageous.

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enjoy working outdoors, and are passionate about delivering inclusive, meaningful activities. Flexibility, patience, and a collaborative approach are essential.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in agriculture, horticulture, education, social care, or related areas are beneficial but not mandatory. A willingness to undertake training and development as part of the role is required.
