
Location
Dartmoor National Park Authority office, Dartmoor, Devon with flexibility to work from home. Regular travel within the geographical area is expected.
Hours
Full Time - 37.5 hours per week. Flexible working arrangements are available and open to discussion.
Salary
£28,831 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
About the Role
As the Project Officer for Dartmoor, you will deliver the Bike It Moor project, part of the Dartmoor’s Dynamic Landscapes (DDL) programme. You will collaborate closely with DDL partners to achieve shared objectives and targets. The programme is led by Dartmoor National Park Authority and funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Your role involves engaging with selected schools and their wider communities to develop and deliver fun, inclusive, and innovative activities promoting active travel such as walking, cycling, scooting, and wheeling to school. You will plan and deliver practical skills sessions including cycle and scooter skills, bike maintenance, led walks and rides, as well as information events like assemblies, drop-in sessions, pop-up stands, competitions, incentive programmes, and classroom sessions. Additionally, you will organise day and overnight cycling and walking experiences to immerse pupils in the local green landscape and natural heritage. Reporting directly to the local Project Manager, you will recruit, train, and support local volunteers and engage with project officers across the South region and UK. A full DBS check is required for this role.
Experience
Proven experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds and adapting approaches to meet varying needs. Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging, interactive group workshops and activity sessions. Experience in events planning and delivering successful behaviour change projects, ideally with a physical activity focus. Understanding of community-based or environmental projects is desirable.

Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Based within the geographical area with willingness to travel regularly.
