About the Role
As the Project Officer for Dartmoor, you will deliver the Bike It Moor project, part of the Dartmoor’s Dynamic Landscapes (DDL) programme. Working in partnership with DDL partners, you will help achieve shared objectives and targets. The DDL programme is led by Dartmoor National Park Authority and funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. You will engage with selected schools and their wider communities to develop and deliver fun, inclusive, and innovative activities promoting active travel to school, including walking, cycling, scooting, and wheeling.
You will plan and deliver practical skills sessions such as cycle and scooter skills, bike maintenance, and led walks and rides, alongside information events like assemblies, drop-in sessions, pop-up stands, competitions, incentive programmes, and classroom sessions. Additionally, you will organise day and overnight cycling and walking experiences to immerse pupils in the local natural heritage.
Reporting to the local Project Manager, you will recruit, train, and support local volunteers and collaborate with project officers across the South region and the UK. A full DBS check is required. Candidates should be based locally with regular travel expected.
Experience
Proven experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds, delivering engaging and interactive group workshops and activity sessions. Experience in events planning and delivering behaviour change projects, ideally with a physical activity focus. Understanding of community-based or environmental projects is desirable.

Qualifications
