About the Role
Are you an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of stakeholder engagement and coordinating large-scale funding proposals? Do you have a passion for the environment and reducing carbon emissions? The Church of England’s Net Zero Carbon (NZC) programme supports the Church’s commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by equipping, resourcing, and supporting all parts of the Church to reduce carbon emissions from energy use in buildings, schools, and work-related transport.

The Dioceses of Chelmsford, Ely, Norwich, St Albans, and St Edmundsbury and Ipswich are collaborating to achieve NZC across their estates and are seeking a Fundraising Officer to work regionally to identify and secure funding for net zero carbon projects. This new role offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact.

You will develop and maintain relationships with potential funders and internal and external stakeholders across the region. The role requires drive, initiative, resilience, and the ability to shape a regional NZC fundraising approach. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to adapt your approach to engage with the national NZC Team, grant-making bodies, and local stakeholders. The role demands strong organisational skills, flexibility, and alignment with the ethos of the Church of England.

Training and support will be provided locally and from the national Church of England NZ Fundraising team. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required. The role is employed by the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, with line management meetings held in Ipswich.

The five dioceses are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-appointment checks, including DBS where required.

Experience
