We are seeking a permanent Senior Built Environment Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Transition & Sustainability (ET&S) team within Consulting. In this role, you will lead a team to deliver technically sound engineering solutions across the Built Environment Mechanical Engineering portfolio. Your responsibilities will include preparing and checking designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation to meet quality, cost, and programme requirements. You will supervise junior staff, manage project budgets, liaise with clients and suppliers, contribute to bid preparation, and promote a quality culture within the team. The role may involve site visits or temporary full-time site work. You will also assume people management responsibilities as required by the business.
Experience
Developed expertise in mechanical engineering within the built environment, typically gained in an engineering role. Proven ability to work unsupervised and supervise junior staff. Experience managing project budgets and commercial aspects. Strong knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools. Demonstrated understanding of CDM regulations, risk assessment, and hazard management. Experience acting as Principal Designer on appropriate projects. Familiarity with interface management on multidiscipline projects.
