About the Role
Amentum is seeking a Senior Consultant with expertise in environmental permitting to join our expanding team of environmental specialists. In this client-facing role, you will lead and manage environmental permit applications and authorisations focused on air quality, water quality, materials management, and waste management, with a strong emphasis on nuclear waste management and new build nuclear infrastructure. You will develop and manage best available technique (BAT) methodologies to quantify and mitigate risks, adopting cutting-edge approaches that consider climate resilience, emissions, noise, biodiversity, water discharges, and heritage. As the discipline lead for environmental permitting in nuclear projects, you will guide project teams to meet technical and regulatory requirements while engaging with clients, regulators, and stakeholders through technical and non-technical meetings, public consultations, and workshops. You will also contribute to safety cases, competition bids, permit variations, and planning applications, providing strategic insights on risks and opportunities related to permitting. Experience
- Minimum five years' experience leading environmental permit applications and developing BAT/BPM studies for chemical, oil and gas, petrochemical, or waste management operations.
- Experience in consultancy or regulatory roles, with peer-review or statutory review experience highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage complex permitting projects in nuclear or high-hazard industrial sectors.

Qualifications
