The insight & evaluation team plays a vital role in producing data, research, and content that supports our mission. The team’s work ranges from calculating energy savings and modelling new technologies to researching consumer attitudes and assessing programme impacts. Team members work both independently and collaboratively, sharing knowledge and tackling complex challenges.

As a Senior Consultant, you will develop and deliver high-quality evaluation and research projects. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the insight and evaluation team, the wider organisation, and external clients to ensure robust and impactful outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing work plans for evaluating and reporting on Energy Saving Trust activities
- Providing technical expertise on research and evaluation methodologies
- Supporting the development of new evaluation and research opportunities, including designing methodologies and identifying resource needs
- Building effective relationships with government clients, public and private sector partners, and internal teams
- Ensuring ongoing evaluations contribute to overall organisational reporting
- Maintaining and developing knowledge of relevant evaluation and research methods
- Supporting and advising junior team members and colleagues using your specialist expertise

Requirements

Experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience in evaluation and research techniques, including logic models, sampling methods, data collection, analytical techniques, statistical tests, and other research tools
- Proven experience designing evaluation or research methodologies covering quantitative and qualitative data and analysis
- Experience developing proposals for research and evaluation projects tailored to client specifications
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple research and evaluation projects for internal or external clients
- Strong analytical skills, including qualitative data analysis and proficiency with software such as Excel, R, or SPSS
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
