About the Role
The Lifescape Project is a small but growing UK-registered charity dedicated to protecting and restoring wild landscapes to secure a future for all life on earth. Our multi-disciplinary team combines expertise in science, law, economics, technology, and culture to develop impactful projects. Our ecological work focuses on two exciting areas: restoring missing species through initiatives such as The Missing Lynx, Pine Marten, and White-Tailed Eagle reintroductions in Northern England; and securing protection for ecological restoration sites as a Responsible Body for conservation covenants, supporting ambitious projects like Nattergal’s High Fen site.

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Senior Ecologist to join our team and play an integral role in the restoration of charismatic species to the UK and landscape-scale habitat restoration. This role involves two main areas of responsibility: Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)-associated site assessments and the practical planning and feasibility of species reintroductions.

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months initially, with the role commencing as soon as possible. The closing date for applications is 9.00am on Monday 20 October 2025.

Experience
Proven experience in ecological assessments, particularly related to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and species reintroductions. Experience working on landscape-scale habitat restoration projects is highly desirable.

About you
Passionate about ecological restoration and species conservation, with strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. Comfortable with remote working and flexible travel requirements across the UK and internationally.

Qualifications
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline is required. Additional professional accreditations or memberships in ecological or environmental bodies will be advantageous.
