We are seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Enforcement Officer to join our Health & Safety Enforcement Team. The role involves health and safety interventions, accident investigations, special treatment licensing, and smoke-free enforcement. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of the borough’s residents, visitors, and businesses through a variety of commercial settings and high-profile projects.

Consideration will also be given to newly qualified Environmental Health Officers who have committed to the CIEH Environmental Health Practitioner pathway to registration.

This is a fixed term/secondment contract for 12 months.

Experience
Proven experience in health and safety interventions, investigating RIDDOR notifications, handling health and safety complaints, and undertaking enforcement action is essential. Experience across a wide range of commercial settings is desirable.

Qualifications
You must hold a professional qualification relevant to health and safety interventions, such as NEBOSH, or a Diploma/BSc/MSc in Environmental Health. Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) and membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is required.
