About the Role
The Health and Safety of our colleagues is the core foundation of how we operate at apetito every day. As part of the HSE Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our people and contractors work in the safest and most effective way possible, operating within the relevant UK legal framework. apetito is growing and embarking on a new chapter with the construction of a state-of-the-art frozen food manufacturing facility named "Kitchen West" in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. This role will manage all HSE aspects from the building phase through to the operation of the new facility and beyond.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the Client's HSE duties on a £100m building project in line with CDM regulations until early 2027
- Overseeing operational HSE design aspects for new machinery and ensuring plant and equipment are production ready
- Implementing relevant HSE training for the new facility in preparation for production
- Collaborating with the sustainability team to develop ISO 50001 energy performance standards
- Leading support for the Head of HSE in developing new safety standards aligned with business risk profiles
- Post-2027, ensuring compliance of all new equipment with internal and external standards
- Developing HSE training tailored to the new facility's safety risk profile
- Leading multi-functional teams in risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis
- Monitoring and reporting on HSE plans, KPIs, and performance metrics to senior leadership
- Engaging with shop floor personnel to identify improvements and drive behavioural and cultural change
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards
- Liaising with regulatory bodies and managing environmental reporting and sustainability initiatives

Experience
- Proven experience in a senior HSE role within manufacturing or similar industries
- Strong knowledge and practical application of UK HSE legislation and best practices
- Experience managing Client's Health & Safety duties under CDM regulations
- Demonstrable experience managing ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 certifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills

Qualifications
- Essential: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent HSE qualification
