About the Role
In this Senior Manager – Carbon Accounting role, you will lead Energy Saving Trust’s fast-growing and exciting net zero consultancy services by developing and designing new propositions. You will be part of the Insight & Evaluation team, reporting to the Senior Manager – Insight & Evaluation, with the opportunity to shape and grow a business unit focused on net zero services for a diverse range of public and private sector clients.

The Insight & Evaluation team produces vital data, research, and content that supports informed decision-making. The team’s work ranges from calculating energy savings and modelling new technologies to researching consumer attitudes and assessing programme impacts. You will work both independently and collaboratively within a friendly, supportive environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
In this role, you will lead the development of net zero consultancy propositions, grow the business unit, and train and manage a team of net zero specialists. Your work will involve calculating and reporting emissions, delivering net zero plans aligned with science-based targets, and supporting clients across sectors including retail, finance, services, software, and the public sector.
You will apply your technical expertise to develop tailored solutions through desk reviews, data collection, analysis, reporting, and providing actionable recommendations. Strong planning, prioritisation, and communication skills are essential to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high client satisfaction.

Experience
- Proven experience in developing or contributing to commercially successful net zero or carbon accounting propositions.
- Demonstrable leadership in delivering scope 1-3 emission inventories, GHG Protocol or ISO 14064-1, and SECR reporting.
- Experience applying net zero strategies and using various approaches to drive change.
- Ability to process data into meaningful insights and work effectively with multiple clients simultaneously.
- Experience managing and developing teams to grow consultancy services while maintaining excellent client satisfaction.

Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in carbon accounting, environmental science, sustainability, or related fields are desirable.
