About the Role
This post will enable us to develop our models for local participation across the UK, starting with two of Plantlife’s nature reserves: Ranscombe Farm in Kent and Three Hagges Woodmeadow near York. The role provides an opportunity to explore new ways of working and take learning into our other reserves and places where we are taking local action. At Ranscombe Farm and Three Hagges Woodmeadow, we have longstanding relationships with the local community and a desire to build upon these, enabling more and a wider range of people to access them, benefit from them, and contribute to their conservation. This is a fixed-term 3-year contract with the first 15 months focusing on the delivery of the Ranscombe Connect project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Using money raised by National Lottery players, the Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage.
Experience
Proven skills and confidence in building relationships with existing and potential stakeholders quickly and effectively. Excellent understanding of community work and the motivations and needs of volunteers. Skilled and experienced facilitator with flexibility of approach and diplomacy.
About you
Creative and enthusiastic individual who enjoys making things happen—having ideas and seeing them through to delivery and evaluation. Able to think strategically about applying learning from one context to other Plantlife locations. Willingness to travel regularly as required by the role, including overnight stays.
