About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects and collaborate with leading experts in air quality. As a Senior or Principal Consultant within the Air Quality team, your key responsibilities will include dispersion modelling primarily using ADMS and ADMS-Roads; designing and implementing ambient air quality monitoring plans using both passive and automatic techniques; contributing to bid submissions, preparing quotes and tenders; and managing projects to budget, programme, and scope. You will liaise with internal and external clients, project teams, and Local Authorities, collate and analyse data, and produce clear, concise reports. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to business development and raise the profile of the air quality team at a senior level.
You will join a team of over 35 air quality professionals working on a diverse range of projects including major national and international initiatives in sectors such as water, mining, land development, transport infrastructure, energy (carbon capture/nuclear), indoor air quality, and air quality policy. The role involves air quality assessment and monitoring, with dispersion modelling as a core component of many road, power, industrial, and odour projects. The team also provides input into Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA), Health Impact Assessment (HIA), bespoke modelling (including CFD, dense gas, and Calpuff), and behaviour change campaigns.
While based regionally in Cardiff, there are extensive opportunities to collaborate with the wider UK and international air quality teams across a broad portfolio of projects.
