About the Role
Are you an experienced ecologist looking for progression in your career? Join The Environment Partnership (TEP) Ecology team based in our Warrington office as a Senior or Principal Ecologist. This role is ideal for ecologists with at least 4 to 5 years of experience, particularly those with technical skills in one or more of the following areas: botany/habitat surveying, biodiversity net gain, or bat ecology (Level 2 bat licence holder). You will work with a broad range of clients across the UK in sectors including residential, urban regeneration, utilities infrastructure, commercial, and leisure. Projects may involve biodiversity net gain off-site delivery, green infrastructure, conservation and restoration schemes, and strategic level initiatives.

You will lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of exciting and rewarding projects, applying your strong field survey, assessment, and reporting skills alongside your knowledge of current best practice and the planning system. Responsibilities include supervising field staff, coordinating project work with other professionals, attending client and design team meetings, and proactively guiding clients through planning and licensing processes. You will also monitor the financial performance of your projects and lead or contribute to the preparation of fee proposals.

Why Join Us?
TEP is a close-knit team of over 40 in-house ecology professionals supported by a network of trusted sub-consultants. We foster a strong ethos of knowledge sharing and professional development. As a CIEEM Registered Practice, we are committed to high professional standards and delivering the best outcomes for biodiversity. We provide a strong focus on CPD through informal and structured training and support your career ambitions, whether that involves achieving protected species licences or Chartered status. We encourage progression and support the development of leadership and management skills. If you are passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you!
