About the Role
Are you an experienced ecologist looking for progression in your career? Join the TEP Ecology team based in our Warrington office as a Senior or Principal Ecologist. This role is ideal for ecologists with at least 4 to 5 years of experience and technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: botany/habitat surveying, biodiversity net gain, or bat ecology (Level 2 bat licence holder). You will work with a broad range of clients across the UK, including sectors such as residential, urban regeneration, utilities infrastructure, commercial, and leisure. Projects will also include biodiversity net gain off-site delivery, green infrastructure, conservation and restoration schemes, and strategic level initiatives.
You will lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of exciting and rewarding projects, applying your strong field survey, assessment, and reporting skills alongside your knowledge of current best practice and the planning system. Responsibilities include supervising field staff, coordinating project work with other professionals, attending client and design team meetings, and proactively guiding clients through planning and licensing processes. You will also monitor the financial performance of your designated projects and lead or contribute to the preparation of fee proposals.

Experience
At least 4 to 5 years of professional experience in ecology. Technical skills in one or more of the following: botany/habitat surveying, biodiversity net gain, or bat ecology (Level 2 bat licence holder).
About You
Enthusiastic and proactive with strong field survey, assessment, and reporting skills. Able to supervise field staff and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams. Confident in client-facing roles and navigating planning and licensing processes. Committed to professional development and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
Relevant ecological qualifications and professional memberships are desirable. Level 2 bat licence holder is particularly valued. Commitment to achieving Chartered status or other professional accreditations is supported.
