About the Role
The Senior Sustainability Manager is a leadership role within the Greater London Authority’s Land and Development team, part of the Housing and Land Directorate. You will lead the implementation of GLAP’s Climate Action Strategy, embedding sustainability requirements and climate risk management across major development projects and estate management. The role involves collaboration across the GLA family, developers, and policy teams to share learning and drive sustainability outcomes. Key responsibilities include leading delivery and reporting on GLAP’s climate action strategy, developing guidance and standards, integrating sustainability into residential and commercial projects, managing climate risk and resilience plans, coordinating climate budgets, and providing sustainability input into high-profile projects such as the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre redevelopment. This role supports some of London’s largest regeneration projects, including Royal Docks, Greenwich Peninsula, and Barking Riverside, focusing on large-scale, mixed-use, multi-phased developments and estate management.
