We are seeking a Senior Transport Planner or an experienced Transport Planner to join our team in Hertford. This varied role is part of WSP's UK-wide Transport & Mobility team, with core responsibilities including supporting the delivery of projects focused on active travel, public transport, strategy development and business case support. You will lead and manage tasks within a multi-disciplinary team, producing high-quality outputs aligned with client requirements.

You will also contribute positively to the commercial performance of the team by recognising key metrics and understanding how individual and project team performance contributes to them. An active contribution to our four key pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Technical Excellence) is expected.

Our team undertakes a wide range of transport planning technical work, including active travel solutions, public transport network planning, scheme development and appraisal, business case development and Government funding applications, economic appraisal, and transport strategy and policy development. Our clients include Local Authorities, National Government Organisations and the private sector, offering diverse opportunities to work across multiple disciplines and realise your career aspirations.

We have a strong regional pipeline of work and the successful applicant will help deliver challenging and exciting projects for national and regional clients.

Experience
Experience in active travel, public transport, scheme development and/or business case development. Experience in developing transport-focused strategies, plans and policies. Experience working with Local Authority and/or private sector clients.

Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences. Commercial acumen and capability to manage tasks and support wider team management, including leading more junior members of the team. Motivated to contribute to a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Qualifications
