Our Environmental Protection team tackles challenges including noise, lighting, smoke nuisances, licensing, and planning issues. We are now seeking Senior/Environmental Protection Officers to join us in investigating and managing noise and nuisance cases in the commercial sector, from initial complaint through to resolution and potential court proceedings. You will also prepare reports and respond to enquiries from Members and the public.

Experience
- PO1: Experience in environmental noise and nuisance investigations including enforcement and consulting on Licensing applications.
- PO2: Experience in environmental noise and nuisance investigations and consulting on Planning, Licensing, and Prior Consent s.61 applications. An IOA Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement is desirable.
- PO3: Significant experience in environmental noise and nuisance investigations and enforcement. Must hold the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
- PO4: Extensive experience and knowledge in environmental noise and nuisance investigations and enforcement. Must have an accredited academic qualification (e.g., MSc, BSc (Hons), or Diploma) in Environmental Health approved by the Environmental Health Registration Board, or an MSc in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics or equivalent.

Qualifications
Qualifications vary by grade:
- PO3 requires the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
- PO4 requires an accredited academic qualification in Environmental Health or equivalent as detailed above.
- IOA Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement is desirable for PO2 level.
