About the Role
AtkinsRéalis is a globally respected design, engineering and project management consultancy. We are seeking experienced Senior or Principal Environmental Consultants to support the growth of infrastructure projects across the energy, water, rail, highways, buildings and places sectors in the UK, with significant opportunities overseas. You will join the Planning and Environmental Consenting team in London, part of a national group of over 150 professionals delivering environmental services that enable project consenting and delivery from feasibility through construction. Key clients include Network Rail, National Highways, Thames Water, Southern Water, National Grid, renewable energy providers and local authorities.

You will collaborate with technical specialists on diverse projects, lead and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related deliverables, engage closely with clients, develop new business opportunities, and mentor team members.

Experience
- Relevant post-graduate experience, ideally within a consultancy environment
- Practical experience in environmental coordination, assessment and management
- Comprehensive knowledge of the EIA process and environmental technical specialisms
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills
- Ability to review others' work to ensure quality
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure
- Experience managing client relationships professionally
About you
- Degree or Masters in an environmental or science-related subject
- Chartered Environmentalist status through IEMA or another professional body preferred
- Highly self-motivated with strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes
- Flexible, adaptable and willing to take on new challenges
- Willingness to work from other Atkins or client office locations as required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or higher in an environmental or related discipline
- Chartered status desirable but not mandatory
- Commitment to continual professional development in line with professional institute requirements
