About the Role
AtkinsRéalis is a globally respected design, engineering and project management consultancy. We are seeking Senior/Principal Environmental Consultants with relevant experience to support the growth of infrastructure projects across the energy, water, rail, highways, and buildings and places sectors in the UK, with significant opportunities overseas. You will join our Planning and Environmental Consenting team in London, part of a national team of over 150 professionals delivering environmental services that facilitate project consenting and delivery from feasibility through construction. Key clients include Network Rail, National Highways, Thames Water, Southern Water, National Grid, renewable energy providers, and local authorities.

You will lead and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related deliverables, work closely with clients, develop new business opportunities, mentor team members, and collaborate with multidisciplinary technical specialists.

Experience
- Relevant post-graduate experience, ideally within a consultancy environment
- Proven leadership experience within multidisciplinary teams
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process and environmental technical specialisms
- Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills
- Ability to review the work of others to ensure quality
- Experience managing client relationships professionally and confidently
About you
- Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject
- Chartered Environmentalist status through IEMA or another professional body preferred
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly
- Flexible and adaptable, willing to take on new challenges and work from different Atkins or client office locations
- Highly self-motivated with strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in an environmental or related discipline
- Chartered status desirable but not mandatory
- Commitment to continual professional development in line with professional institute requirements
