About the Role
As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and inspiring environment at the world-renowned Wellcome Genome Campus. You will oversee day-to-day operations across campus facilities, leading a team of skilled operatives and contractors to ensure high standards of service delivery in maintenance, cleaning, security, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include supervising and coordinating facilities management services, managing contractors and service providers, supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities, monitoring performance, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. You will also act as a point of contact for facilities management-related queries and emergencies, ensuring compliance with health and safety and statutory regulations.

Experience
Proven experience in facilities management or building services is essential.

About you
Strong leadership and communication skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Knowledge of health and safety and compliance standards is required.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in facilities management or building services are preferred. Given the nature of this position, candidates will be required to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) at offer stage. Additional pre-employment checks may apply depending on the role.
