About the Role
The Woodland Trust is seeking a Site Manager to oversee its sites in North Scotland to high professional standards, aligned with our conservation principles, management approach, policies, and contracts. This key role within the Scotland team involves managing a diverse portfolio of woodland sites, ensuring the safety of visitors, contractors, and volunteers. You will lead woodland management, ancient woodland restoration, and people engagement projects, acting as a strong advocate for the Trust’s work and values. Responsibilities include carrying out Woodland Condition/PAWS Assessments and monitoring to inform, write, and implement long-term management plans. The Site Manager will build collaborative relationships with internal teams, external organisations, contractors, neighbours, and volunteers. A company car will be provided for this role.

Experience
Experience in the land management sector, preferably in forestry or woodland conservation. Proven ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders including landowners, statutory and public bodies, and local communities. Experience in contract and budget management, including tendering and appointing contractors. Working knowledge of tree pests and diseases and their impact on woodlands.

About you
A proactive 'can-do' attitude with excellent communication skills. Commercially aware and able to build effective partnerships both internally and externally. Willingness and ability to travel extensively across North Scotland and occasionally within the UK, including overnight stays. A full driving licence is essential.

Qualifications
No specific qualifications are explicitly required, but relevant forestry, conservation, or land management qualifications will be advantageous.
