About the Role
The Woodland Trust is seeking a Site Manager to oversee its sites in North Scotland to high professional standards, aligned with our conservation principles, management approach, policies, and contracts. This key role within the Scotland team involves managing a diverse portfolio of woodland sites, ensuring the safety of visitors, contractors, and volunteers. You will lead woodland management, ancient woodland restoration, and people engagement projects, acting as a strong advocate for the Trust’s work and values. Responsibilities include carrying out Woodland Condition/PAWS Assessments and monitoring to inform, write, and implement long-term management plans. The role requires building collaborative relationships with internal teams, external organisations, contractors, neighbours, and managing dedicated volunteer groups. A company car will be provided for this position.

Benefits & Wellbeing
Joining the Woodland Trust means contributing to tackling environmental and climate issues. We offer support and training opportunities alongside benefits including enhanced employer pension, life assurance, flexible and hybrid working options, generous annual leave, enhanced parental pay, and an employee assistance programme.

About Us
The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity dedicated to creating a world where trees and woods thrive for both people and nature. Our mission is to engage and inspire individuals to help tackle the nature and climate crisis through the protection, restoration, and creation of essential woodland habitats.

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
We strive to better reflect society and the communities we work in. We encourage applications from people of colour and disabled people, who are currently under-represented in the environment and conservation sector. We welcome discussions about additional support or adjustments needed during the application process.

Application Advice
For fairness, candidates’ personal details are hidden from hiring managers and CVs are not requested at the application stage. Please ensure your Personal Statement clearly demonstrates how your skills and knowledge meet the job specifications and expresses your passion for the role. First stage interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams.
