About the Role
As a Workplace Health & Safety Real Estate Due Diligence & Remediation Manager at Amazon, you will partner with various stakeholders and teams globally to support real estate transactions. You will perform transaction-related due diligence, scope and manage remediation projects, develop Amazon standards and policies, and implement program requirements. This role involves managing programs at the corporate level to ensure risks and liabilities are properly evaluated and mitigated during transactions.
Key responsibilities include providing a single point of contact for transaction teams to support Amazon's due diligence program, reviewing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and related reports, evaluating exposure risks such as asbestos, lead-based paint, and vapor intrusion, scoping and managing site investigations, performing vapor intrusion screenings and health risk assessments, and drafting mitigation plans for contaminated soil and groundwater during renovations.
You will liaise with Real Estate, Legal, Construction, and Launch teams regarding mitigation and ongoing management, review work by contractors and consultants, assist legal teams with drafting protective language related to hazardous materials, and represent Amazon professionally with property owners and their representatives. The role requires prioritizing and leading multiple projects concurrently while maintaining effective relationships across teams and external partners.
Experience
- Extensive experience as an environmental technical resource, program specialist, or project manager.
- Knowledge and experience with ASTM Phase I standards and other environmental protocols.
- Experience in developing and implementing standards, policies, and programs.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and high-volume workloads.
- Experience working in dynamic, changing, or growing organizations is preferred.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of core business and legal concepts related to business transactions.
- Demonstrated expertise in site assessment and investigation programs and regulatory environments.
