About the Role
The Economic Directorate is seeking ten dynamic individuals to join Cardiff Council’s waste education and enforcement team. Your role will focus on improving local environmental quality and delivering a high standard of customer service. You will work closely with team members, residents, and operational staff to fulfil commitments related to waste and litter enforcement, as well as waste and recycling education.
Key activities include educating residents, businesses, visitors, and stakeholders on waste storage and presentation, providing specialist knowledge on litter, waste, and environmental legislation. You will be responsible for issuing fixed penalty notices for littering and dog fouling, and pursuing prosecutions in court for waste and litter related offences.
This role requires a strong focus on customer service, personal responsibility for completing tasks and projects, promoting key messages, and delivering campaigns and action days to support waste and litter enforcement.
Experience
Ability to perform effectively both in an office environment and operational settings, including street-based waste searches and resident education.
