About the Role

You will be joining our expanding Building Structures team as an Engineer, playing a key role in managing projects and supporting technical leadership within the team from inception through to handover of completed schemes to clients.

Develop innovative and sustainable designs from concept for a wide range of challenging projects including major hospital redevelopments, universities, international projects with national and local architects, as well as surveys, inspections and reporting for clients.

Take a leadership role managing single and multi-disciplinary design projects from concept through detailed design, coordinating with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants.

Contribute to our ongoing success and help build towards delivery of a growing order book. Join a diverse and talented team that:
- Takes strategic lead roles on large multi-disciplinary projects and provides bespoke structural solutions to niche and architectural-led concept designs
- Forms strong working relationships with other WSP disciplines, external design consultants, stakeholders and clients

- Provides sustainable development solutions from site selection through detailed design and construction
- Offers specialist advice and design solutions supporting sustainable design, net zero carbon aspirations, and the development of MMC & DfMA solutions.

Reporting to a senior team member, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and high-profile multi-disciplinary development projects across the region and globally. Projects span sectors including airport buildings, commercial & mixed use, retail, education, healthcare, and award-winning small public projects.

Our client base is broad and well-developed, spanning private and public sectors with regional, national, and international clientele. This is a fantastic opportunity to join WSP’s expanding Structures Team in Scotland, working within dynamic multidisciplinary offices that provide opportunities to collaborate across many disciplines within WSP.

Experience
Proven successful design delivery, particularly in concept design and project inception stages, preferably within a multi-disciplinary environment. Experience in managing requirements and risks and influencing others to deliver successful outcomes.

About you
Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership potential to communicate effectively with project teams, stakeholders, and clients. Motivated to contribute to improvements in working practices and project outcomes. Eligible to achieve Security Clearance.

Engineers are usually working towards Chartered status before reaching Senior Engineer level as a Chartered Engineer.

Qualifications
Relevant engineering qualifications and working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
