About the Role
Join AtkinsRéalis and deliver what’s right for people and our planet. As a Sustainability and Carbon Consultant within our Environment Practice, you will support carbon, sustainability, and net zero initiatives across a portfolio of major infrastructure projects and strategic clients. Your responsibilities will include developing innovative carbon and sustainability strategies, designs, solutions, and management plans, as well as project managing and coordinating sustainability inputs on major infrastructure projects. You will represent the company at external networks when required, helping to build your personal, team, and company reputation. Additionally, you will support bid proposals by authoring submissions and ensuring key win themes are retained throughout. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across buildings & places, energy, water, transportation, security & defence, with significant opportunities for overseas work. Requirements

Experience
Degree-level education in an environmental or engineering-related discipline and registration with a recognised professional body is required. Prior experience and up-to-date knowledge in areas such as carbon accounting and reporting, decarbonisation/net zero roadmaps, sustainability assessments, whole life carbon, sustainability reporting, sustainability strategy, renewable energy feasibility studies, and supply chain engagement are essential. Experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including technical specialists at various levels, is important.

About you
You possess strong interpersonal skills and are able to communicate effectively through report writing, presentations, and tailored communication for different audiences and seniorities. You have a good understanding of UK sustainability and carbon guidance and standards used within infrastructure projects, including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and PAS2080. You are motivated to drive sustainability initiatives and contribute to innovative solutions that make a tangible difference.

Qualifications
Degree in an environmental or engineering-related discipline and registration with a relevant professional body are required. Additional qualifications or certifications related to sustainability and carbon management will be advantageous.

Additional Information
This role may require security clearance, with offers of employment dependent on obtaining the relevant level. The vetting process is conducted by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of UK residency for five years or longer.
