About the Role
This fixed term contract until October 2026 offers a key position within the Corporate Communications team at Reed Exhibitions Limited. The Sustainability Engagement & Communication Manager supports the company’s commitment to delivering Net Zero Carbon events by fostering engagement and alignment across internal event teams, external partners, and customers. Working across 25 global Business Units and over 300 events, you will lead the development and implementation of strategic communication initiatives that promote sustainable practices throughout the event lifecycle. Your responsibilities include creating impactful case studies, managing cross-functional projects, and ensuring consistent messaging with measurable engagement outcomes. Success in this role depends on effective collaboration across diverse teams and regions, delivering communications that advance sustainability objectives and encourage continuous improvement in event delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead creation and updates of internal sustainability learning materials, including the RX Sustainability Playbook, tailored for event directors, marketing, operations, and sales teams
- Manage rollout of learning materials through initiatives such as webinars with support from the global Sustainability Council
- Develop external communications toolkits to help event teams showcase sustainability efforts to customers
- Collaborate with the Global Corporate Communications team to promote sustainability achievements and integrate content into the global communications plan
- Maintain and update sustainability content on the global website
- Identify and submit entries for external awards recognizing sustainability initiatives
- Create educational resources for stakeholders including exhibitors and suppliers
- Support mandatory external sustainability annual reporting, producing reports and case studies to highlight progress and impact

Experience
- Strong understanding of sustainability practices or a passion for sustainability and green initiatives
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across diverse teams and business units
- Experience in internal communications, social media, or public relations within a corporate or matrix-style environment
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and social media platforms; familiarity with Gen AI platforms and Canva is a plus
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines with limited supervision
- Comfortable working in dynamic environments and making informed decisions with limited information
