About the Role

As a Sustainability Engagement Manager, you will lead programmes that foster a culture of sustainability across Vodafone globally, supporting the delivery of Vodafone's environmental and social sustainability ambitions and targets. You will own, develop, and implement strategies for sustainability engagement, including capacity- and capability-building, Purpose activation, and employee engagement. This role involves building and maintaining communities of sustainability practitioners across functions and markets, and advising on the technical accuracy of environmental claims in brand, marketing, corporate, and internal communications to manage stakeholder risk and align with Vodafone's Purpose narrative.
This position is part of the Group Sustainable Business team and works closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Human Resources, Brand, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, Internal Communications, Vodafone Business, and Public Affairs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building sustainability capability, capacity, and engagement across all workforce levels
- Designing and implementing initiatives and resources to empower sustainable business change
- Managing communities of sustainability practitioners and facilitating network events
- Integrating sustainability programmes into performance management and incentive structures
- Collaborating on Purpose activation campaigns and projects for internal and external audiences
- Running the Group Sustainable Business research programme to engage employees in sustainability projects
- Supporting internal events related to Purpose for awareness and engagement
- Assessing and advising on the technical accuracy of environmental claims and collaborating with legal teams to maintain guidance and learning resources

Experience
- Experience working in a corporate sustainability team within a matrixed organisation
- Experience in change management in a multinational and multicultural environment
- Knowledge of environmental claims regulations and best practice guidelines (preferable)
- Advanced project management skills to lead strategies across multifunctional workstreams
- Demonstrated knowledge of key sustainability topics such as net zero, circularity, and digital inclusion

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in a sustainability-related field
