About the Role
At M&S, sustainability (known as Plan A) is central to everything we do. We are seeking a strategic and passionate Sustainability Manager to join our Central ESG team, responsible for driving our Group-wide net zero emissions strategy and managing approaches to water, waste, responsible sourcing, and biodiversity. This multi-faceted role includes accountability for carbon reporting and climate risk, while supporting the Head of ESG in shaping the overall business sustainability strategy, targets, and action plans. You will collaborate closely with the Central ESG team, Plan A teams across Foods, Fashion, Home & Beauty, International, Property & Retail businesses, and key functions including Finance, Logistics, and Digital & Tech.

Requirements

Experience
- Strong experience across sustainability topics including carbon, water, waste, and human rights.
- High analytical and numerical skills with expertise in GHG Protocol, SBTi, and TCFD.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence across multiple functions.
- Experience in managing sustainability reporting and compliance.

Qualifications
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related fields is desirable.
- Knowledge of current and emerging sustainability regulations and frameworks.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in ESG and sustainability disciplines.
