We have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Manager to join us! You will lead the delivery of One Manchester's carbon reduction retrofit projects, Heat Networks, and Utilities. Supporting the Head of Assets and Sustainability, you will ensure One Manchester meets the city's carbon reduction targets while delivering our sustainability strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead retrofit projects across One Manchester stock to improve energy efficiency and meet government energy and carbon reduction targets.
- Oversee performance, maintenance, and optimisation of heat networks and utility systems, ensuring technical compliance and operational efficiency.
- Provide advice and innovative solutions to improve and maintain the sustainability and energy efficiency of the housing stock.
- Ensure the customer voice is embedded in sustainability projects and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Use customer feedback as a tool for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across One Manchester business teams to deliver asset and energy advice.
- Undertake surveys and make recommendations for retrofit activities to improve home energy efficiency.

Experience
- Proven experience leading a team to deliver retrofit works in a social housing setting.
- Strong knowledge of contract management, complex project delivery, and wider programme management.
- Experience managing people, contractors, and projects at both strategic and operational levels.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of successful partnership working with internal and external stakeholders.
About you
- A proactive and innovative manager with strong leadership skills.
- Committed to embedding customer feedback and satisfaction in sustainability initiatives.
- Strong IT literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office packages.
- Holds a full driving license.
Qualifications
- Holds or is willing to work towards the IOSH Managing Safely Certificate (or equivalent).
- Good understanding of complex contractual issues related to repairs and maintenance operations.
