About the Role
Computacenter is seeking an experienced Test Environment Manager to join our Test & Validation Management team supporting major customers. This permanent role is UK based and requires working on site in Hatfield, Milton Keynes, or Nottingham. You will be a key member of the team responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of testing environments. Your focus will be to ensure environments are readily available, correctly configured, and support all necessary testing activities across projects. Collaborating closely with development, test teams, and project stakeholders, you will help guarantee the quality of product releases by providing stable and reliable testing environments. The role requires excellent communication skills, strong organisation and problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work within an agile framework and independently prioritize tasks. Security clearance is required or willingness to undertake it.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams to identify and provision necessary environments for testing
- Manage setup and configuration of test environments, ensuring proper replication of production environments where applicable
- Implement environment provisioning tools and automation scripts to streamline setup and maintenance
- Monitor health and performance of test environments, promptly identifying and resolving issues
- Perform environment refreshes and updates to reflect latest software versions and configurations
- Manage environment capacity and resource allocation to ensure efficient test execution
- Implement environment monitoring tools to track performance and identify bottlenecks
- Identify opportunities to automate environment setup and maintenance processes
- Evaluate and implement new technologies or tools to improve environment efficiency and performance
- Work closely with Service Managers, Test Managers, Developers, Test Analysts, and other stakeholders to understand testing needs and coordinate environment access
- Communicate environment availability, status updates, and potential issues to relevant teams
- Provide technical guidance on best practices for test environment management
- Investigate and troubleshoot environment-related issues, coordinating with teams to resolve problems quickly
- Implement incident management processes to track and report environment-related disruptions
- Develop and maintain documentation for test environment standards and procedures
- Work to SLAs and deadlines while prioritising and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Establish good working relationships with wider teams and customers
- Create and maintain documentation and processes related to test environment management

Experience
- Minimum 3-4 years' experience in a similar Test Environment Manager role
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and testing methodologies
- Expertise in configuring and managing various operating systems, databases, and network environments
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, and VMware for test environment provisioning
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks
- Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues and identify root causes
