About the Role
Computacenter is seeking an experienced Test Environment Manager to join our Test & Validation Management team supporting major UK customers. This permanent role requires you to be onsite full time and ideally already hold Security Clearance or be able to obtain it. You will be a key member responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of test environments to ensure they are readily available, correctly configured, and support all necessary testing activities across projects. Working closely with development, test teams, and project stakeholders, you will help guarantee the quality of product releases by providing stable and reliable testing environments. The role demands excellent communication skills, strong organisation and problem-solving abilities, and the capability to prioritise tasks independently within an agile framework.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams to identify and provision necessary test environments
- Manage setup and configuration of test environments, ensuring accurate replication of production environments where applicable
- Implement environment provisioning tools and automation scripts to streamline setup and maintenance
- Monitor health and performance of test environments, promptly resolving issues
- Perform environment refreshes and updates to reflect latest software versions and configurations
- Manage environment capacity and resource allocation for efficient test execution
- Implement monitoring tools to track performance metrics and identify bottlenecks
- Identify opportunities to automate environment setup and maintenance processes
- Evaluate and implement new technologies or tools to improve environment efficiency and performance
- Work closely with Service Managers, Test Managers, Developers, Test Analysts, and other stakeholders to understand testing needs and coordinate environment access
- Communicate environment availability, status updates, and potential issues to relevant teams
- Provide technical guidance on best practices for test environment management
- Investigate and troubleshoot environment-related issues, coordinating with teams to resolve problems quickly
- Implement incident management processes to track and report environment-related disruptions
- Develop and maintain documentation for test environment standards and procedures, including process creation and documentation writing

Experience
- Proven experience in a similar Test Environment Manager role
- Good understanding of product development lifecycle and testing methodologies
- Expertise in configuring and managing various operating systems, databases, and network environments
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, and VMware for test environment provisioning
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and identify root causes
