About the Role
As a Test Environment Manager, you will be responsible for automating and managing the lifecycle of test environments to support development and testing teams. You will develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to provision, configure, and tear down environments, integrating them seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines. Your role includes establishing service level objectives (SLOs) to ensure environments meet availability and performance targets, and monitoring environment health using observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana to proactively identify and resolve issues. You will lead incident response efforts, conduct blameless post-mortems, and implement lasting fixes to minimize disruptions. A key focus will be automating repetitive tasks to reduce toil and free engineering resources for strategic initiatives.

Strategically, you will drive continuous improvement by analysing performance data and incident reports, balancing reliability and speed through error budgets, and fostering a reliability culture that promotes shared ownership among development, QA, and SRE teams. You will also be responsible for capacity planning to ensure infrastructure scalability and collaborate with Test Data Managers to advance test data management, ensuring data is consistent, compliant, and automatically provisioned alongside environments.

Experience
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience managing test environments, automation, and infrastructure in complex technical settings.

Technical Skills
- Expertise with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, and Grafana
- Proficiency with CI/CD platforms including Jenkins and GitLab CI
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing
- Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking concepts, and database management
