About the Role
As a Test Environment Manager, you will be responsible for automating the lifecycle of test environments by developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision, configure, and tear down environments integrated with the CI/CD pipeline. You will establish service level objectives (SLOs) by defining and measuring key service indicators (SLIs) such as availability and provisioning time to meet the needs of development and testing teams. Using observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana, you will monitor environment health and performance to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks. You will lead incident response efforts, conducting blameless post-mortems to implement lasting fixes and minimize toil by automating repetitive tasks, freeing engineering time for strategic work.

Strategic and Cultural Responsibilities
You will drive continuous improvement by analyzing performance data and incident reports to identify innovation opportunities. Balancing reliability and speed, you will apply an "error budget" approach to optimize feature development and stability. Promoting a blameless culture, you will foster shared ownership and collaboration between development, QA, and SRE teams. You will also anticipate future resource needs through capacity planning and work closely with Test Data Managers to ensure test data is consistent, compliant, and automatically provisioned with environments.

Technical Skills
- Expertise with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, and Grafana
- Proficiency with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins and GitLab CI
- Experience with configuration management tools including Ansible and Terraform
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, especially AWS, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing

- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking concepts, and database management

Soft Skills
- Leadership and influence to champion SRE practices and engage technical and business stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to investigate and resolve complex environment issues under pressure
