About the Role
Cawood Scientific Limited is the largest independent provider of analytical laboratory testing and sampling services for the land-based industries in the UK, operating from 15 sites nationwide. We are currently seeking a Trainee Environmental Technician to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and career within a dynamic and expanding business.
In this role, you will conduct routine environmental monitoring across our three service areas: Water, Construction, and Compliance, following company protocols, quality assurance standards, and client contract specifications. You will perform routine checks and maintenance of environmental control systems and client infrastructure, ensuring reliable and professional service delivery.
You will act as the face of Enitial in the field, building trust and long-term positive relationships with clients through dependable service and professionalism. Maintaining the cleanliness and proper calibration of equipment, vehicles, and PPE is essential to uphold company credibility.
Working as part of a regional team, you will contribute to team morale and offer assistance where needed. You will report any deviations or non-conformances that could affect data integrity to the relevant managers and analysts. Efficient time management and schedule review will be part of your responsibilities, alongside accurate data management and timely reporting.
Safety is paramount; you will proactively ensure all fieldwork is conducted safely, reporting accidents or near misses immediately in line with company policy and accreditation. Compliance with the 'Stay Safe' remote working application is mandatory when working on-site.
Additional duties include liaising with laboratories and couriers to ensure sample compliance, assisting with on-site training of new employees to support their onboarding, and completing routine administrative tasks such as expenses and vehicle checks.
Experience
No previous experience required. Enthusiasm for environmental monitoring and a willingness to learn are essential.
