Joining the Transport & Mobility team, you will contribute to developing innovative, evidence-led transport solutions that influence how people move, live and connect across the UK. This role offers excellent career progression within a successful team of transport modelling professionals working on a wide range of regional, national and international projects. You will apply advanced transport modelling techniques to support strategic decision-making across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects. Key responsibilities include developing and applying transport models, including model building, calibration, validation and forecasting; supporting or leading projects involving transport strategies, business cases and demand forecasting; analysing complex datasets to produce meaningful insights; preparing technical reports and client deliverables; scoping modelling requirements and defining methodologies; collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams; supporting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing; and engaging with clients and stakeholders to clearly communicate modelling outputs.
Experience
- Some experience in developing transport models, including calibration, validation and testing.
- Experience with at least one modelling package such as VISUM, SATURN, EMME or similar.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of UK transport policy, appraisal and modelling guidance such as Department for Transport (DfT) Transport Analysis Guidance (TAG).
- Experience in Python or other programming languages such as R, Java or C++.
- Experience in GIS.
