About the Role
Thurrock Council is seeking reliable and self-motivated individuals to join the Waste & Recycling Team as Waste Collection Assistants (2 posts available). As part of a small crew, you will be expected to demonstrate good communication and customer service skills to engage politely and professionally with colleagues and members of the public. Your duties will include operating in-cab vehicle devices, moving, handling, and loading refuse, recycling, garden, and food waste. The role requires working with minimum supervision and involves operating machinery and performing heavy manual labour, so physical fitness and mobility are essential.

Experience
No specific experience is required; however, previous experience in waste collection or manual handling would be advantageous.

Physical fitness and mobility are required due to the nature of the work involving heavy manual labour and machinery operation.
