About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, qualified, and self-motivated HGV Driver to join the Waste & Recycling Team as a Round Leader. As a Round Leader of a small crew, you will demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, engaging with colleagues and members of the public in a polite and professional manner. You will be responsible for leading the team and carrying out a range of duties including operating vehicles and in-cab devices, moving, handling, and loading refuse, recycling, garden, and food waste. The role requires working with minimum supervision and involves driving, operating machinery, and heavy manual labour, so physical fitness and mobility are essential. You will safely drive HGVs and other Council vehicles, requiring a valid HGV Class-C Driving Licence and Drivers Qualification Card (DQC). Experience with rear-steer vehicles is advantageous, and a willingness to train on a variety of vehicles and equipment is essential.

Experience
Proven experience as an HGV driver with the ability to manoeuvre large vehicles in restricted and difficult areas. Experience with rear-steer vehicles is advantageous.

You are a team player, quick learner, and able to work with minimum supervision. You have good communication and customer service skills, are physically fit and mobile, and willing to train on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications
Essential: Valid HGV Driving Licence Class-C and a valid Drivers Qualification Card (DQC). A DBS check is not required for this post.
