About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, qualified, and self-motivated HGV Driver to join the Waste & Recycling Team as a Waste Collection Round Leader. In this role, you will lead a small crew, demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills to engage professionally with colleagues and the public. You will be responsible for operating vehicles and in-cab devices, handling and loading refuse, recycling, garden, and food waste. The role requires working with minimal supervision and involves driving, operating machinery, and heavy manual labour, so physical fitness and mobility are essential. Experience with rear-steer vehicles is advantageous, and a willingness to train on a variety of vehicles and equipment is required.

Experience
Proven experience as an HGV driver is essential. Experience operating rear-steer vehicles is advantageous. Ability to manoeuvre large vehicles in restricted and difficult areas is required.

Good communication and customer service skills are essential to engage politely and professionally with colleagues and the public. Physical fitness and mobility are necessary due to the nature of the work involving driving, machinery operation, and heavy manual labour. A willingness to train and use a wide variety of vehicles and equipment is essential.

Qualifications
A valid HGV Driving License Class-C and a valid Driver's Qualification Card (DQC) are essential for this role. A DBS check is not required.
