About the Role
Tower Hamlets Council is seeking motivated Waste Operations Supervisors to join the Waste Services team. You will supervise and directly monitor waste and recycling collections as well as street, markets, and parks cleansing operations. The role requires ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and effectively within budget, with tasks completed to set standards and accurate financial reporting. Key responsibilities include booking in staff and agency resources, allocating fleet vehicles and equipment, ensuring staff present a positive corporate image with appropriate uniform and PPE, setting clear daily expectations and standards, monitoring staff performance and health and safety compliance, managing training and development needs, and taking early action on performance issues in line with Council HR policies. You will also debrief crews and staff at shift end, maintain accurate records of work completed and incidents, and develop positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and communities to support the Council’s strategic priorities.

Experience
- Several years’ experience working in a waste management operational environment
- Experience using IT software and equipment to support supervision and monitoring of waste operations

Qualifications
- Valid full driving licence (Category C1) required
