About the Role

As a Graduate Contaminated Land Consultant, you will join a passionate team within our Environmental and Consent division, working on impactful projects across the built environment, transport, and water sectors. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a culture that values curiosity, integrity, and teamwork. Your work will combine office-based and field activities, blending technical rigour with purpose-driven impact.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Conducting environmental research and desk studies to inform project decisions and strategies.
- Monitoring and sampling groundwater and ground gas to assess environmental conditions.
- Supervising site investigations and analysing environmental data to identify risks and guide remediation.
- Contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments and land contamination risk reports.
- Supporting the development of remediation strategies and proposal writing.
- Collaborating with engineers, scientists, and planners to deliver integrated, innovative solutions.

Experience
Less than 12 months' relevant experience (excluding placements). Genuine passion and desire to make a difference in environmental consultancy.
About you
Committed and motivated graduate with strong initiative, effective communication skills, high attention to detail, and a structured, analytical approach to problem solving. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Flexible working arrangements supported.
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's degree (obtained no earlier than 2024 or expected to achieve one) in one of the following disciplines:
- Hydrogeology
- Contaminated Land
- Environmental Geology
- Environmental Science
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK without Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, as Mott MacDonald does not currently offer sponsorship under this route.
