About the Role
Greentech is seeking a motivated Approved Electrician experienced in the maintenance of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV plants. You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, remedial work, testing, and managing subcontractors onsite. Your expertise in photovoltaics and ideally high-voltage systems will be essential as you install cabling and modules, terminate cables and connectors at DC and AC distribution boxes, and install cabling for monitoring and communication equipment such as data loggers, routers, and sensors. You will identify faults on electrical components and communications equipment through testing, perform annual testing including string testing, DC main cable testing, IV curve testing, and thermal imaging, and carry out test and inspection of newly installed AC equipment in accordance with BS7671. Additionally, you will compile reports, update the company’s ticketing system, assist asset and operations managers with small works quotations, and ensure all health and safety actions and routines are followed. The role also involves mentoring or training other team members and working closely with electrical labourers, electricians, and site managers.

Experience
At least two years of working experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems for Solar PV sites. Experience in managing subcontractors and working with electrical test equipment including MC4 crimpers.
About You
Good dexterity and confidence in using AC/DC electrical test equipment. Understanding of Microsoft Office, phone/tablet usage, and document reporting structures. Basic understanding of Health & Safety standards and regulations. Willingness to travel to sites as required. Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical Installation or equivalent. Vocational qualification (NVQ Level 3) in the electrical industry. National Electrotechnical Training (NET) AM2 certificate. Additional relevant certifications such as Level 3 BS7671:2018 (18th Edition), 2391 test and inspection. ECS Electrician Card desirable. SMSTS desirable. HV/AP desirable.
