Hours
Full time, Permanent. Annualised hours: 40 hours per week during Summer (8 months) and 27 hours per week during Winter (4 months)

Salary
£35,820 - £41,925 per annum (dependent on experience)

About the Role
Are you a qualified Arborist/Tree Surgeon with excellent customer service skills? Join our friendly and dedicated Greenspaces Team to support the maintenance of tree stock within the borough of Reigate & Banstead. This role involves undertaking a full range of arboricultural works including pruning, felling, and working at height. You will carry out specialist tree management activities such as coppicing and thinning, identify various tree species, inspect and survey trees, and recognise defects and hazards.

You will be responsible for the safe and correct application of pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals, writing and recording site-specific risk assessments, and assisting with all aspects of arboricultural operations and long-term work schedules. Additionally, you will support the team in responding to emergency works and manage the on-site working environment when necessary.

Experience
- Strong experience in climbing and arboricultural operations
- Experience leading an arborist team or working as a senior arborist
- Experience driving arboricultural vehicles and towing trailers/chippers
- Knowledge and identification of arboricultural pests and diseases, kept up to date
- Previous experience working for or with Local Authorities is advantageous

Qualifications
- NPTC CS 38/39, NPTC CS 40/41, NPTC CS 30/31 chainsaw certificates and NPTC certificate in use of woodchipper (Essential)
- NPTC certificate in use of powered pole pruner (Preferred)
- Trained in the operation of MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) (Preferred)
- Up to date First Aid training relevant to climbing operations
- Valid driving licence with towing entitlement
